Family day at the park.
Running errands all over town.
When you’re on the go with your family, it makes sense to pack tasty, on-the-go snacks that everyone will enjoy. Not only is it economical to take snacks and drinks with you, it’s a much healthier alternative to the fast food and soda you may end up buying out of hunger.
We’ve always taken out own snacks, and even though my kids are not small anymore, we still take along simple snacks so we’re not tempted to eat while we’re out.
Use a small soft cooler and a few small ice packs to tote your snacks and keep them cold. Here are some ideas:
- Single serve juice and water
- Low fat cheese sticks
- Carrot sticks
- Celery sticks
- Whole grain crackers
- Trail mix
- Go-Gurt yogurt tubes from Yoplait.
Yoplait does not contain high-fructose corn syrup, and it has natural colors and flavorings. They’re super simple to pack, and eat on the go, because it’s in a tube – no spoon needed! They’re available 8 and 16-count package varieties.
